Kukup Island

Had a short getaway to Kukup, Malaysia last Saturday! My Uni mates thought I was crazy to go on a tour when my first paper is on the Nov 12 :x

Kukup Island is an eye-opener for me. It is a fishing village entirely built on stilts, surrounded by sea water. Imagine living alongside with mudskippers and crabs! Somehow, it reminds me of Venice though I know it is certainly a world apart different from the latter.
We rented a chalet house at Kukup Laut. In the chalet, we self-entertained with karaoke, mahjong(We didn’t exactly play that cos none of us was interested), poker cards, play with fire crackers and sparklers and enjoy fresh and delicious seafood on-the-spot barbecue for us. Outside, we went sightseeing, and discover the village life of Kukup natives. On top of that, we took a boat ride to kelong, where we walked on creaky, wooden maze that dangerously bobbed up and down on the water, while wow-ing at schools of fish during their feeding session. In the evening, dear and I flew our 5 Ringgit worth of Superman kite at an open space to revive our childhood days (:

A 2D1N trip there is an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Kudos to my cousin, he had the trip planned for us. It was also a great gathering with my relatives whom I don’t see often. (:
