Am truly happy that today is a public holiday. Yeah! Cld take a good break at last. =D Kinda miss the days when I cld slack around at home, watch tv programmes, read comics, cook, browse the net and listen to FMs... You know, I've been sooOoo busy with work lately..(yesterday especially);
My supervisor and another colleague from the Support team were on a day and half day's leave respectively yesterday. Tt left me and my sensei struggling at the Support department with piles and piles of work. Then at some point of time, my sensei had to be away for a while to discuss things with the Personal Wealth team leader. Eventually, I was the one and only pathetic soul left to fight the battlefield. *shakes head* So whenever the phones rang in a symphony, tt's it for me really; I cld spend the whole day answering incoming calls, leaving my work stacking up on my office desk like Mount Everest. Fortunately, I dun hav to be faced with that predicament so far. *Touchwood!* Cos' my sensei wld always come to my rescue whenever I need her. But heaven was seemingly not on my side yesterday bcos there were simply too many things happening all at one go; too many negative things to be exact; one of which- was incidentally dragged into some kind of te-ne-ne office politics. I ridiculed at the fact that it isnt my department's politics at all, rather it's another department's. I'm not going to elaborate the entire story. No matter what, I was relieved to have gotten out from it. *phew* For once I wished I'm working at the reception where everything is so peaceful...*sigh* However, come to think of it, it's yet another good lesson to be learnt cos it adds bonus to my working experience. =D Jus gotta be more prudent next time in whatever I do and say.
On a lighter note, I hung out with Poh and Bow this late afternoon. ^-^ It's been long since the last time I went out with friends. We supposed to have a gathering at Hans this evening for din. But majority cldnt make it..so left the three of us shopping ard aimlessly at Bugis and Suntec.
Before meeting them at 1530, I actually met up with my junior, Lee Hoon at Bedok. Was suprised that she gave me a box of Mark and Spencer Choco Biscuits which was nicely wrapped up in a fanciful paper and a 'thank you' letter. Din expect those at all, cos' I merely passed some of my chem knowledge and tips to her and gave her some encouragement in her studies. She was such graetful to me tt she bought a gift in return. I thank her for the biscuits and for letting me to understand and appreciate a famous chinese phrase; 'hao ren you hao bao' (Kind people are repaid for their kindess.)=D Morale of the story? Be kind pple! *haha*
Back to the threesome outing..we ate our all time fav Katong Laksa along Bugis street(if I'm not wrong), shopped ard Parco (where I bought our all time fav Muji pens. Miss Muji leh! *haha*), walked to Suntec (which made me realised that I've been taking the longer route there when there's a short cut. Feels *dumb*) strolled ard the City before we decided to find a place to sit down, rest our legs and take a bite in the evening. =)
We first visited Kopitiam at the top level of Suntec. Wanted to order Strawberry Kisses dessert and a plate of carrot cake to share among ourselves. Guess what? I cldnt believe tt there's NO stalls at all frying carrot cakes. Den when I was at the dessert stall wanting to make an order, the plump lady was seemingly feigning ignorance of my presence and busy doing her own work. I stood there for quite awhile.. got rather irritated by the bad service and voiced out my order for the dessert. Opening a big fridge and taking a quick glance, she gave me a cannot-be-bothered attitude and concluded that she's no strawberries left. I was like 'Huh?!' She din even bother to search for it and jump to that conclusion instantly. How ridiculous! So we left the foodcourt and made our way to the one at the basement for which we tot was still existing; Walked a full circle around at the fountain basement only to make an 'interesting' discovery that the foodcourt is closed down with the opening of the new one beside MacDonalds. *gOodness gRacious* Finally settled down at KFC. We'll like debating for the whole 20mins about what to buy so that it satisfied the three of our needs cos' we were neither of the extremes. Come to think of that, I tot it was rather funny of us to do so when all other pple who came into the restuarant took their orders promptly, yet we had to make a discussion on that. Anyway, what a hunt for food hor? *dotz* Worst, Bow and I even came up with the crazy idea of travelling all the way to eat Popeye at airport. The KFC was too warm and uncomfortable! Popeye's chicken is soo much nicer and the ambience is hundred times beta. * So pai seh for KFC's fans arh. I pro Popeye! *haha* )
Oh yeah, we took neoprint at our all time fav machine. Lotsa screaming during the neoz taking cos' we were too overly excited in keeping pace with the fast shots as a result of the quick tempo music. *hee* It's as if we were playing a photo-taking game in an arcade.^-^ Above are the shots we've taken; my new layered hairstyle which wasnt v clearly shown here in the pics; Poh's newly rebonded hair; and Rainbow's skirt! It's highly significant cos' she seldom wears skirt in all our outings! *lol* (am so bad right?! Keke~ but I dun think it's prominent in any of the neoprints here)
Gotta work tmr and jog with Poh. Havent been exercising for donkey years. It's time to start a healthy lifestyle! *haha* =D

Finally. I've finally made up my mind on the kind of path I wanna take on next- NTU Business. Well..ever since the open houses, I've more or less decided on that, only that it's not finalised then cos' I had yet to register online. Now, I've signed up for it, printed out the relevant documents and paid for the registration fee. So everything has come to a finale. And of course to play safe, I registered for NUS Business Administration too. Heard from quite a number of my friends that they gotta go for the latter.. Great. Meaning tt I'll be faced with less competition for entry into NTU Buz. *haha* Really pray hard that I cld get into the course of my choice..-_-
As what Weiee has suggested, probably I should try to reason out why I pick NTU Buz school. Hmmmz..here it goes:
1. I follows my heart. Since my heart is directing me to NTU Buz School, why not?
2. Unlike NUS Buz, NTU's offers specialisation. Rather than to be equipped with skills bits and pieces here and there, I tot it wld be beta if I conc on a particular field of specialisation and excel in it (on top of the general knowledge of Buz I gotta learn in my first year).
3. A wide range of career prospects. Buz graduates cld easily blend into HR, Banking, IT, Sales...etc. Tt explains why I deter from choosing Fac of Science.
4. NTU Buz has 3 yrs direct honours. A shortened route to greater achievements. Tt factor alone is enough to attract myself to the course.
5. There's a compulsory attachment in NTU Buz, which I'm quite looking forward to. Hands-on is beta than plain memorizing of theories after theories cos' practice makes perfect! Dun you agree? ^-^
Wow! I didnt expect myself to actually have five reasons listed out here without much difficulty. Hmmz..it shows that I dun regret my choice at all ya? If I've no passion for Buz, I wldnt have been able to figure out the above at my fingertips already. A meaningful exercise for me wor. Thanks Weiee! =D
By the way, it seems that I havent been keeping you guys update with my work at HSBC. Not to worry, I'm doing very well at the backroom. =D No matter how stress it may become, it's never as pressurizing and dreading as the reception.
I was having lunch this afternoon with a new FIO, Cybelle. When she was complaining to me about how dreadful and how difficult it's to handle tasks at the reception, I cld fully understand her feelings due to the fact that I went thru it myself too. Seeing her running in and out of the backroom, sourcing for experienced staff to ans her queries, it's as if I'm looking myself in the mirror during my first one and a quarter months' here, when I was doing exactly the same thing like what she's doing now. Maybe tt's why both of us hit off well the moment we met though we barely know each other for a few weeks. Am glad that I'm out of those te-ne-ne days and I'm truly enjoying my work now. Nothing monotonous at all; quite hectic actually cos' there are lots of cut-off time to be met. Moreover, I've to answer irritating phonecalls when my colleages are not at their desks. *hee* (Ehh..Not irritating la.. But how nice if the office cld be peaceful with no phonecalls daily. *haha* I'm off-track.) =D
Ohh..And I've made a BIG discovery. *hehe* Abit of exagerration here but anyway, I happened to find out that the good, macho looking; NUS pschology cum philosophy fresh graduate is a victim of cigarette! *eEeks* Dislike pple who smoke. Do you know how pollutive it's when smokers enter the enclosed; air-conditioned backroom immediately after they took a puff? In addition, little do I ever thought that I actually have a good number of smokers in my bank whose looks tell nuts of their true self. Goodness gracious. I really dun understand why pple wan to smoke. Is that the only way for them to de-stress? Apparently not! They're taking the easy way out as a matter-of fact. How disgusting. *blank-blank!* Smoking does nothing but ruins the smokers' health and image. Can smokers pls pls pls wake up?!?! Quit smoking now and stop giving excuses that it's hard to quit due to the addiction. The issue here is whether you've the determination or not. When there's a will, there's a way.

@12:06 PM
Took a half-day leave today..and so here I am into the the blogging mood. The leave tt's granted to me out of this wk's busy schedule really serves a good purpose. First of all, I havent been feeling in the pink of health since morning. Probably I've 'over-swam' the last evening with Bee ba..ironically we only managed six laps and now my body is aching all over. Tt shows how little I exercise yeah? Secondly, I have simply too many unfulfilled tasks at hand. If I dun take leave to finish them off, I've absolutely no idea when I wld ever fulfill them. -_-
***
Visited NUS and NTU open houses over last weekends. Imagine travelling all the way to the West on two consecutive days. Goodness gracious. I was totally defeated by the seemingly ever-lasting journey, which is like tt of 'Journey to the West. I wonder how I cld survive next time if I cld successfully get posted to NTU. Btw, I've somehow made up my mind to opt for NTU, Business. Had already analysed the pros and cons of admission to either NUS or NTU. Realised that NTU Buz is my cup of tea although I dun really fancy the institute as much as NUS....Alright, I've to admit tt there's some sort of discrimination here. *ooPs oOps* Most importantly, I shld to go for the course and not for the institute. Shldnt I? Yeah..and NTU buz meets my needs. So no doubt she's certainly my choice.
Well.. somehow or rather, I've placed the career prospects of the various courses into one of my top few priorites of consideration. After having a new colleague recently who's a fresh NUS graduate, I realised that a majority of the job markets only require a general degree. And the degree may not necessarily be of any relevance to the industry that you're working at. Oh well. Take my this colleague for instance; he's a Philosophy cum Psychology graduate and what's he now? A Personal Wealth Assistant in HSBC- a world of difference from his specialisation yeah? Even my Customer Service Manager, Jo told me as a matter-of fact that her Banking and Finance knowledge seems to go down the drain cos' she doesnt need to apply any of which on her work at all. She was like telling me," Trust me, you dun need a degree in Banking and Finance to work in banks." All I cld reply to her statement was "Triple dots." *Sigh* Well..it's okay, it's alright. I'll jus go for my interest, and dun think too much abt what I wld become the next time. ^-^

@2:47 AM
Time passes fast when one is kept occupied daily. Really love my present lifestyle; no worries abt upcoming tests or examinations b'cos there simply isnt any for me to even be bothered with; no fears abt my results since the verdict was out; so now I'm only left with enjoying life to the maximum and doing things I seek pleasure in while gaining experience from work. How perfect tt sounds to you and of course, to me too. =D If only time comes to a halt here...
Well.. on calculation, I still hav abt 4 mths of such heavenly life before entering a world of hectic schedules again. But tt's provided if my admission to the course of my choice is a success. Right now, I remains in a dilemma, pondering between the two extremes- Science or Business. Worst, the NUS open house tmr apparently wanna play a trick on me (supposedly purposely) by clashing both faculty talks at 5.00pm. *dotz* I know there are alternative time slot in the morning but I'm working on the first half of the day. What to do? -dilemma- -dilemma- -dilemma- *sigh*
People actually find it ridiculous that I'm aimless at this stage. Frankly speaking, I've been searching for my ideal ambition since Sec 3. Till now, the ans is not unveiled. I really hav no slightest idea what I wanna do in the future, and what suits me best.
Music? Yeah..that's my interest. However, I doubt I can depend on that to be my 'iron rice bowl' especially in a country like Singapore where the arts scene remains subtle despite all the hardwares put in place. How sad tt is yah?
Business? Whether I'm cut-out for this line or not is still a big question mark. Whether I'm into Banking and Finance and am sure tt that's exactly the particular path tt I wan to take, the verdict is not out. Hopefully the open houses on this weekends cld assist this lost sheep a little? Yeah.. =D
Dislike making major and critical decision like this. Do I hav a choice? Oh well. Life is all abt making decisions. Dun you think so?

"Born of a vision to be the best
Rising above the rests
We speak with one clear voice
As this is our choice
Cause' we're..
Born of a vision to be the best,
Rising above the rests
We speak with one clear voice
As this is our choice
Meridian yes we'll be..
the BEST..................."
Yes! I'm soo proud of MJC! It was an utter surprise that MJ did well! ^-^ According to Ms Lai, we the students actually exceeded their expectations for us in this 2004 Cambridge Advanced Level Examinations. Our commendable performance is truly unexpected. So good that the college even hung a big banner at the bridge above the sidewalk of the parade ground which says, "Well done, Meridians!" So good that even the Straitstime, under the Home section reports: " Meridian JC's pioneers prove sceptics wrong." *laughs*
In fact, out of 550 candidates from MJ, we've 46 smarties who bagged 3 distinctions and 5 whizz kids scoring straight As in their content subjects. Wow. Amazing! =D To speak of the truth, our past examinations' statistics like mid-yr and prelims never even showed such optimistic results before. Thus, I shld say that this piece of good news is truly the bestEsT gift that we pioneers present to the college ba. ^0^ (I guess our juniors will be in great pressure now! *lol*)
After saying all these, you guys must be very curious abt my individual achievements. Hmmm..shall I keep you guys in suspense then? *Evil smile* No la.. Dun worry, I'm not that bad de. (*haha* fancy praising myself like tt. Unbelieveable.) Anyway, thanks for your concern, pple! =D
My results.....
*drum-roll*
B
B
C
and a pass in my GP. ^-^
Bs for Chemistry and Mathematics, and C...- ironically for my all time strongest subj, Economics.Oh well.
Frankly speaking, I was already quite glad that I din score a D or E for this killer paper, given the fact that I din spend the amount of effort for this particular subj that's comparable to my other two weaker ones. So probably tt explains why I gt a C for it?
However, I'm very very happy for my Maths especially! As a matter-of-fact, I've been failing this subj for my entire JC life except for promos when I only managed to touch a D. *hee* I really have to admit that without Add.maths foundation, it's quite difficult to cope with C maths which is a GrEaT jump from the sort of maths we normally did in sec sch. No doubt I was met with lotsa obstacles along the way when I study for tis subj..but thanks to my beloved Maths teacher, Mrs Neo who's patient with us despite our slow learning, and is always there for us whenever we need her, almost all my 310 classmates achieved an either A or B for the subj. ^-^ Congras to us!*hee* ^o^
Not forgetting to extend my deepest gratitude to Dr R!! The best Chem teacher on earth! *haha* If not for him, I might still cont to be blur abt certain chemistry ConcePts. Love the way Dr R teaches us cos' he really brings out the gist of every topic tt aids us in understanding the concepts behind all the theories we studied. *COnCepTs* yeap, is exactly the keyword. =)
Phew! Feel that a burden has finally rolled off my shoulders after like 3 mths? Three months of being kept in suspense; living in fear; having frequent nightmares. It's a torment to me, really.
Oh yah..Thanksgiving time. *lol* Quite a no of pple whom I wld like to show my deepest gratitude for; First and foremost, I would like to thank God for answering my prayers, followed by my parents for giving their pillars of support; Before I went to collect my results on Friday, my mom actually reassured me that she'll give me the fullest support no matter how good or bad my results were. Thanks Mom! And Dad..for driving me to college every morning so that I cld get enough sleep daily. *Muacks Dad* My grandma..who keeps ensuring me that everything will turn out fine for me, and indeed, it does! My cousin, Xiuning who's always been there for me when I need her..Pohpoh and Nurul, my mugging companions! *laughs* and those who've wished me luck for my exams or results like Mr and Mrs Chua ("Mrs Chua, wo mei you 'si'!" Haha),Hui Huang, Hui Hui, Xinhui, Jian Lin, Hiddy, Clara, Cedric, Dan, Xingwen, Pohpoh, Kenneth, int'l WRM, Bryane, Jianing, Kelvin, Jared, my band juniors (HSC and MJ)..etc..Too many to list. *Gee* Thanks lots pple! ^-^ Truly appreciate that. =)
"...Feel the flame of our dream, burn forever
As our journey here begins
We're together
With each step we take we go
Strength to strength we'll go
As we set ourselves apart
Facing challenges ahead
We'll overcome
With passion, fervour we'll strive
Spread our wings and fly
We will reach the highest star
Through Meridian
Yes, our hopes and dreams will shine "

Truly enjoyed the last three days of my admin work!
To be specific here, my scope of work is actually known as Courier desk. It's basically sorting out and preparing the relevant documents that are to be sent down to Singapore Operation Centre (SOC). Sounds easy? Well..such an almost no-brainer job cld in fact be made complicated with piles and piles of documents that are not only sent to us by the front desk but by mails. So you can imagine me opening up stack upon stack of envelope, perusing the content and sifting them out into the respective 'dumping grounds'. *laughs* One benefit from that; I can collect a greater variety of stamps all around the world! *lOl* Besides that, there are lotsa filing to do, and also balancing of PIN by the end of the day. And you know, there are like how many different types of PIN for me to tally the amt?! Hmmz..to consider my admin job stressful....well, so far I thought it's still quite 'okay lah'.Am only pressurized during the time when I'm too busy till I cldnt meet the runs (as in the courier runs) which take place SIX times per day! :S
Made quite a number of errors during my first two days in the office...*sigh* -_-Guilt really seeped into my bones when I saw how my nice-nice colleagues help me to rectify the problems caused by my silly mistakes, especially when they offer to answer to customers' complain on my behalf. Feel so apologetic towards them! *haix Haiz* :( Really treasure their presence there. :) Tt's why I'm determined to strive for error-free in my daily assignment! Btw, I've actually achieved that for the first time today! Gotta ganbatte for tmr, for the day after and for the rest of my days there! ^-^
Was glad that my band juniors had done well for their 'O' levels. Congras, pple! ^0^ Seems to me that Dragon babies really made their mark by having a total of 21 scholars for this exam. Wow.. Amazing! Smart babies wor. *laughs* :) No matter what, am happy to hear good news from juniors and friends who pass their exams with flying colours. Will I be able to be like them and bring good news to them too on Friday? A big question mark here. As the very DaY draws near, I started to feel butterflies in my stomach more often than ever. Moreover, I kept having a bad premonition these days...*haix* How I wish miracle will happen.. Well, it does but the point here is will I be the lucky one den? Argh. Whatever. Shall find out on Friday.
