What could I say? I got the job! I'm officially employed as a temp accounts and HR assistant. The pay is rather good for a temp job. However, on account of the considered-heavy responsibilities rested on my shoulders, I guess it is reasonable. The best part of this job being its flexible working hours! Though it stretches till Sept, I could in fact work 4 days per week during my Special sem and 3 days per week when sch re-opens. Nice eh? haha. =)

My first day of work today =) The people there are nice! They even cooked porridge for lunch. hee. Well, actually it was their first time, trying out on home-cooked porridge in the office since the staff whom I'm replacing is pregnant. They wanted to save her trouble of going out for lunch. So sweet right?? We had ten dishes, some of which they brought their own, others bought from market. Though they're mostly canned food, but it was the cosy atmosphere that counts! I felt like I was part of the family in the Academy when we were all eating at the supposedly-meeting-table in the basement. It really warms my heart! And one colleague actually bought for us a cup of chocolate ice-cream for tea break! haha. So nice of her! Hopefully I could know them better as time goes by =)

Cool right?! Oh my goodness, it's DHL Hot-air Balloon! I boarded it in the evening with my cousin, Xiuning. We were soOO suPer excited! We kept taking pictures before and during the ride with her camera. haha. =) The balloon is held at 150m altitude from the ground. Up there, one can see really beautiful scenaries of Singapore. And you would realise how 'neat' and clustered our garden city is! =D Do try to take a ride on the balloon if you can! 2 more days left!!!

After the ride, we ate Katong Laksa. OOh. My favourite. hee. It was long since I last visited the stall at Bras Basah. Then, we shopped! yay! One interesting fact we realised about each other wasour differing tastes. Though we might share almost the same thoughts and looks, we have diverging tastes for clothes. Practically all clothes which caught her attention do not arouse my interest at all. haha. So we decided, when we go shopping for the next time, she could assist my shopping by looking out for clothes that she thinks are ugly; clothes that she thinks are ugly I thought are nice. And it works vice versa. Goodness. haha.

The seminar is just tomorrow. How time flies! My so-called 'telemarketer' job is coming to an end soon with the commencement of the seminar. Another job experience gained in the area of telemarketing, though I’m not marketing any products or services; rather, persuading people to attend a seminar after they receive invitations from the company. Well, I do admit that this job is quite boring since all that I do is to simply sit there in the igloo-like office, calling a list of 800+ customers for the entire one and a half week span of work. But satisfaction came when you see customers whom you've sincerely contacted signed up for the seminar. At that instant, I truly felt a sense of achievement and joy. (=

Now, I hope that everything will turn out fine for the seminar. If it is not for the irresponsible partner company which did not help out in the promotion, we would have easily reached the overall target outcome. Nevertheless, my cousin and I had tried our best. I proudly say that we met our target. (= Hopefully the eventual turnout for the seminar will be optimistic. ^-^

Went for a job interview yesterday. It was my first ever interview in 19+ years. Haha. Surprisingly, I wasn't nervous at all. Probably it doesn’t matter to me whether I'm employed for the job, though I hope I will! Cos' I believe I will learn lots from being a temp accounts and HR assistant. On the hindsight, if I get the job, it means to say I’ve to work all the way till sept, and I gotta be really busy juggling with sch, work and band. Will I be able to manage? Oh well. That is still a question mark now. However, I'm certainly willing to try. I would feel that I'm living life to the fullest in this way. Well, of course not at the expense of my health. So hammy, I promise you that I’ll take great care of myself no matter how busy I am, alright? (=

On the other hand, should I miss the job (*touchwood*), I could have more time for myself, doing things that I like. I could spend more time with my family, friends and hammy; I could master cooking skills which I’ve long to learn from mom.; and I could probably also exercise more! ( I haven't exercised for eons. Oops ) So many so many things to do and I can take my own sweet time fulfilling them one by one. How nice right? (=

Whatever is the outcome, I leave it to fate. My conscience is clear cos' I've already done my best for the interview. And I thought the interview turned out fine! I was rather happy about that. (=

A tough period for hammy now. It hasn't been easy for him. One pessimistic thing after another. Luckily, one was resolved. I couldn't imagine what will become of him if I did not arrive to a decision on time. I’m glad we did the right things together at the right time. No matter what, I sincerely hope that the other matter will turn out fine soon =)

I realised I'm not alone after all.

I turned around..

and saw my great pals who stood by me.

My beloved adviser, Xinhui

My beloved cousin, Xiuning

My beloved 'fairy' partner, Weeleng

and...

My beloved friend, Pohpoh.

Of course not forgetting,

My beloved parents

who trust my judgement and support my decision.

Last but not least,

my beloved hammy.

Yes, we survived it.

Love conquered it all.

I love you, hammy. (=

Truly appreciate the care and concern by my great pals.

You gals rawks (=

Run and run and run.

Finally when I came to a hilltop, I realised I've nowhere to run.

All I see below me are deep waters.

I'm trapped.

I screamed for help. So loud that I thought I lost my voice.

But only the wind and waves answered me.

I'm alone.

Alone in a stranger island.

Everyone is gone.

No one could help me.

No one.

Am I the only one who can help myself?

First time spending so much on myself in a single day.

Went shopping with hammy and bought a rather expensive pair of earrings from Poisson Rouge by Jo's Craft. It's made of Japan stain glass; a combination of sky blue and pink flower petals. Very exquisite indeed. But I was surprised at myself for not hesitating a moment before I purchased it. Probably the sales gal is too persuasive! haha. Somehow, I would feel bad if I did not buy the item after she had wasted so much breath, recommending the nice earrings to me. Besides, I've been wanting to get an accessory (at least) from the shop. They're all very beautiful! =) I believe this is the first and the last costly pair of earrings I showered myself with.

Bought a handbag at Taka sales. One very lady-like sort, yet does not make me look too matured carrying it around. hah. It caught hammy and my attention immediately while we were browsing around the pool of bags. The amiable sales gal told me that the bag is a limited edition. So, yeah I bought it; at 50% discount. =)

The exquisite earrings! The shot is blurred though. =/

The 'attitude' handbag. Gee.

Had dinner with my pri school buddies at Century Square. It has been quite some time since I met up with them. I guess our last gathering ended when I set off to Holland last year. Oops. Neverthless, it was great to see them again! Our 10 years plus of precious friendship. We reminisced the olden days when we were still young and innocent in Damai pri,and we laughed at our silly acts. haha. All the truths like who like who whatever were blurred out one by one. I realised there are quite some things that I wasnt aware of in fact; not till our information centre a.k.a Shufen leaked them out yesterday. hee. Pretty interesting! I would look forward to a chalet we're going to have sometime in May or June. Ooh. 2 chalets all in all awaiting me! =)

All of a sudden, I miss studying! Hah. How amazing. Probably I'm too free these days that all I want to do is to return to books. Occasionally, I would rake up my Macroecons textbk and flip thru the pages. But somehow, I found no incentive reading them. =/

Now I've to admit that it's agonizing to be a couch potato. Luckily, I didnt exactly follow my original plan; rest at home for a month plus before I start my intersem. At least I made an effort to visit a job agency straight after exam, letting fate decides whether I should work during this free period. A week past by now, I hear no news from the agent who promised to call last Wed. Oh well.

But! One good news I received last night; my cousin found me a job at Redhill. It spans for 2 weeks (better than nothing =D ), and the pay is quite attractive - $60 a day, from 9-6pm. The best of all is that I can work with my beloved cousin. yay! Hee. =)

There's something about me and my cousin; we look quite alike. When we were in Nyjc, we were mistaken to be sisters. hah. But more importantly, we share rather common interests and school of thoughts. Sometimes, I do wish that we are really sisters. =)

Looking forward to next week when I begins work!

***

Bought Da Chang Jin VCD for mom; Her Mother's Day prezzie! =) It makes a perfect gift for her since she's been wanting to watch the show once and for all (rather than 'chasing' after the tv episodes, which could be quite frustrating with all the adverts). For those who know me well, I do have an ulterior motive for that.haha. Whatever it is, the most important thing is that she's happy! =)

Going out with hammy later and meeting my primary school mates in the evening. Looking forward!

Happy Belated Birthday to Kailing!

I'm glad all of us stayed strong. It hadnt been easy for us; so much we've gone through for each and every of that 7 days; but we overcame it.

Blood is indeed thicker than water.

For the past one week, I could sense that all of us are becoming closer together. People whom we seldom communicate with, started to break the ice; People whom we always love to talk develop even closer ties together. The sense of togetherness is really warm and sweet. For all these, I really have to thank him. He, who brought all of us together.

Blessing in disguise?

Well, maybe.

Now it's over. It's time for all of us to move on with life.

Finally. Finally I did it.

Yeah! I'm freed. I can drive on roads! =)

The week has been solemn. I've to admit that life is indeed unpredictable. Things jus happened too fast that sometimes, I could not bring myself to accept the reality.

But I'll be strong,

so do my family and relatives.

The second half of Inspirations VI saved it all. I was particularly impressed with the soloist who played Carmen Fantasie, Op. 25. You should have seen how focused he was in his playing. Without the music scores, he closed his eyes and played his heart out; swaying his body along with the melody. And towards the end of the piece, I thought he nearly went 'zou huo lu mo'; his head was nodding frantically, as if it was his metronome and his fingers.. Oh wow..his fingers were not running. They were FLYING! Yes, they were 'flying' along the board of strings. Hammy and I watched with our jaws dropped. His techniques are undoubtedly marvellous. *thumbs up!*

Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture was a nice one =) Hammy was saying that if we could, we should 'bagged' the first clarinettist and first trumpeter to musart. haha. Ya, I agree. They are really good!

I shant comment much about the first half. The String Octet in E flat Major was...bad. Yea..the tuning was way too off to be bearable. *oops*

Love my tone at Musart band prac yesterday! Didnt know why I suddenly sound better on that R13. (not as if I sounded bad on other days la) But I've been complaining about my tone on R13. It just doesnt sound the way I want it to be. That explains why I always look forward to using the RC from MJ during alumni band prac. Anyway, I just hope the nicey tone will sustain throughout, especially when so many events are coming up.

Tried out 'Theme from Supermario' arranged by hammy during break at musart. We sounded pretty good together! But the tricky syncopations are giving us a hard time. Nevertheless, I love the challenge. hee. That is something abt syncopations; once you get use to them, they're as easy as playing the on-beats. What you need is to FeEl for the rhythm; feEl for the song. Yes, music is all abt feeling.=) It gotta be a very interesting piece after hammy has done some touch-up to it.=D If you wanna hear the premiere of this piece, you're welcome to watch Haising Concert on the 21st June! haha. =)
