Some Random Thoughts
xx Catch-up with Belle xx
While I was climbing the long gradual slope to my office this morning, I recalled about a good catch-up session with Belle last Friday. I've long wanted to meet up with this ex-colleague of mine straight after uni exams to get "Lovers in Paris" VCD from her. However, I didnt expect myself to be tied down with lotsa stuffs then and I simply couldnt find a good time to date her out. Despite my busy schedule, I managed to grab an opportunity to meet her last friday for lunch.
The feeling of stepping into the bank again is bittersweet. I reminisced my past working days; the short period of time when I was at the reception counter doing i-cheques and random customer service work; the more memorable days I had in the backroom handling courier stuffs.
Saw quite a couple of new faces at the banking hall...but met with the familiar faces too while I was seated at the reception waiting for Belle. At one point of time, I managed to catch a glimpse of my employer whom I used to fear alot (am fearing her now I don't know why)walking passed me. Wanted to call out for her...but something inside stopped me from doing so. Well..probably I don't desire much of a catch-up with her as much as I do with the rests. Still, I've to thank her for remembering me after so long; cos' she actually recommended me a job during my sch break thru kelly services. However, I've to decline the good offer as my schedule didnt allow. It was a pity but I guess it was a blessing in disguise for I'm offered a better position later on; which is exactly the job I'm holding now. =)
Back to Belle. Havent seen her for 6 months by now...still, she's the same as before; always running here and there at the bank hall trying to get things done quickly; always hanging that sweet smile on her tanned chubby-looking face and serving her customers with a sincere heart. [ I've to say that Belle is really one of the best customer service officers I've met so far. *thumbs-up* for her! ^-^ ] I guess the only difference I manage to spot on her is her rebonned hair. haha.
From our conversations, I realised the importance of education. I am really fortunate to have come thus far; not everyone has a chance to enter university, which is typically seen as the highest level of education. It is not easy to work and study at the same time, especially when you've to work and support your family. It must really be hard on her. Belle, Jiayou!
Looking at how Belle juggles with her life, I'm spurred to work even harder for uni exams; graduate with a good honours degree, and find a good job! =D
