@11:44 AM
Now I finally understand why persistence makes the impossible possible.
I did it.
Yes. I did it!!
A computer idiot I am, I actually figured out how to get all the internet connections done in my hostel! =D Soo Happy!
Was initally frustrated and helpless. I thought that if I could just connect the LAN cables to my laptop, everything will be done up nicely for me. Moreover, when I tried to click on Internet connection which shows the ntu homepage that I set in my internet options, the page revealed. Hence it somehow misled me into believing that other webpages like hotmail, blogger and friendster will work as well. Tt's why when my dad was still around to help me with all the setups, I din really bother that much to check and make sure that everything works out fine. Unfortunately, how wld I expect that the moment he left my hall, all the problems came rushing in one by one. *triple dots* It ended up that I cld only access the NTU webbie and nothing else. Goodness gracious. Tried umpteeth of times and blank pages with bold statement which reads, 'Page is unavailable' kept showing up. Was irritated to the maxx!!! Though I did get help from friends, I decided to work it all out by myself cos' it's almost impossible to get instant assistance from them. I was too eager to get all setups donethen to procrastinate till the next day. But still, thanks you pple lots, Huiting and Ian for your advice! =D
So I decided to try my luck by browsing thru NTU webbie on IT help to see if there's any instructions provided for wired Lan connections.
With sheer determination, I found it! That precious page on the guide for wired LAN connections.=) Followed the instructions one by one..change the settings accordingly and Yes(!!),the pages that I yearned to reveal, revealed!! You cldnt imagine how ecstatic I was. Like what Ian said, 'The power of self satisfaction derived from the exploration of an unknown subject matter.' He's perfectly right.Guess what.. I was jumping around my room like crazy, celebrating the moment of joy. (As if I've won a prestigious prize which I never dreamt of winning) But again, it's really the satisfaction that I got from achieving something which I deemed impossible, considering the fact that I know nuts abt computer related stuffs. Frankly speaking,all I know is to use it. I've no slightest idea of the set ups and stuffs like that. Truly feel the sense of achievement.^-^ Three cheers for myself! Well done, Huili! *laughs*
Okay..bcos of this tenene comp settings, I've sacrificed my macro revision. Argh! Gotta log off RIGHT NOW and STUDY!!
My first ever entry made in hostel shall end here.
Signing off =D
Yearn for the days of innocence
