Oh goodness gracious. How long have I not blogged!!
Time to update.
Just recovered from my jet-lag. My mind was seemingly whirling around (still) at the beautiful memories in Holland/Belgium/Finland. Lots of unexpected stuffs..but they were certainly pleasant ones and truly unforgettable.
One v.v important announcement;
Mus'art Wind Orchestra has won a...
*drum-roll*
GOLD medal in World Music Contest, Harmony 2nd Division at Kerkrade, 2005!!!
Our scores were as follows:
Test Piece- Impressions of Japan: 254.00
Chosen Composition- Iris: 258.50
Final Score: 85.42
'Ecstatic' is the only word that I could use to describe my feelings at that very moment when the emcee announced the result. Moreover, our band achieved the highest score among all the afternoon performing bands! So to speak, our past 7 months of effort has paid off. We reaped what we sowed. Probably we could achieve better result but I think Gold medal is already good enough for Mus'art. Am truly glad that we didnt let the Jurong Green CC and our sponsers who subsidised each and every of our trip cost down. We brought glory to Jurong community and Singapore! Haha. Hopefully we could have the chance to compete in Harmony 1st division for the next World Music Contest...which will be in year 2009.
Anyway, it was a truly great experience for myself, to be able to perform on stage in a foreign country for masses who truly appreciate music and also, to watch fantastic fanfare,symphonic bands and even marching bands from all over the world! Though I actually forked out 15 Euros just to watch 3 bands competing in the 1st division one day after our comp day, I was already contented. Cos' such opportunity does not come by easily! If I missed out these great performances now, I would have to wait for another four years before I can watch them again. Oh my..FOuR YeaRs! It's equivalent to donkey years later. Can't wait that long la. Haha.
Alright..I gotta stop here. My laptop batt is dying soon!
Btw, I'm doing fine in school! ^-^ Gradually adapting to hostel life..and thank goodness I didnt suffer from insonmia there. But still, I'm trying to catch up with my work. Ganbatte, Huili!
Will upload the photos that I've taken during my trip soon.
=)
