I've only one word in mind to describe Frysk Fanfare Orchestra(FFO):
F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C
Xinhui, you were right. I do hav some regrets for my absence in the orchestra's concert at Jurong Green CC yesterday night. Eventhough I had the opportunity to hear them this afternoon during the band workshop, I felt that I've missed something great. Argh.
Still I'm thankful to Candice for the 'Youth Alive!' complimentary ticket. Am glad to be the priviledged one out of so many of her friends. She won 2 seats at SCH for this concert and chose to give one of them to me. Arigato Gozaimasu, Candice!
This 'Youth Alive' concert which in fact, is a stage Band cum Solo Singing cum Dance competition, has somehow or rather reminded me of the biased voting system adopted in Project Superstars. The winning team of each category was solely dependent on the number of sms votes casted. So tell me, how fair could the competition go? Justice is the term tt's missing here. What 'Best' Band or 'Best' Solo Singer title? Should I jolly well re-phrase them into 'Most Popular' Band or 'Most Popular' Solo Singer? The results were so saddening. Fortunately, justice was done in the Dance category. Else, I wldnt know what to say den. =/

It was a wonderful band exchange with the FFO. I was particularly amused by this great Eupho player who could play 'Flight of the bumble bee' style-alike pieces on his instruments. And on top of that, his crystal clear flutter tonguing tt lasted for several bars on the music was truly commendable. Throughout his solo performance, I was like 'Wowing and wowing' non-stop.
The best part of the exchange cum workshop was when Musart members were invited to play with the orchestra! But I pity the Flute and Basson sections for not having the chance to do so since FFO is mainly a Brass band with Saxophone as their only wind instruments. Moreover, there arent any other instru which shares similar pitch as the two mentioned above. Oh well..what a pity really! How nice if the entire Musart could play with FFO.
For Clar section, we played with the Flugel Horn section. Flugel Horn- my newly-found most fav brass instru!=D Haha. In case you've no idea how it looks like, ijus picture an instru commonly used by the angels which resembles the trumpet.
One thing I gotta say is oh boy, the Dutch people are practically towering me! When we were standing up for one part of the Born Free music piece, it seemed as though I was being sandwhich-ed by two mighty figures! But they are real nicey and friendly souls who joked with you and warmed your hearts, jus like how their music does so. A *thumbs-up* exchange with them.^-^
All the very best to them for WMC. =D
Go, FFO!!!

Mus'Art WMC Fund-raising concert was a success despite the less than 3/4 filled Victoria Concert Hall that Thurs night. I'm rather pleased with the improvements that the orchestra had shown for Iris, Impressions of Japan and Rebirth. However, I believe there are greater rooms for better performance. We definitely cld stretch our potential further and hit the peak during WMC. Yes, we CAN do it! =)
By the way, I need to express my heartfelt Thanks to my parents and friends who took time off to attend the concert.
*My dad who took half-day leave to accompany my mom to watch the performance
*Wei Ee and Juanz for the beautiful stalk of Sunflower(my fav flower~!)
*Sarah and Huizhen for their roses
*Vicky and Man Ling for the sweet little candy bottle
*Amanda, Tze Xiong, Kailing, Weijie and Yongan for their very presence.
Hopefully I din miss out anyone here.
Thank you all!
